Short selling adds a great deal of liquidity into the market. I think it’s a fair and useful trading strategy. Think about all the scams and lies that exist in the capital markets and how great it is that you can bet against them. If people decide to short a healthy company (for whatever reason), that’s their prerogative. If the business is legit and the shorters have got their thesis wrong, they’ll be the ones on the losing side of the trade.
