The above conversation Hamish had is exactly why I've given up with management. They are full of it.

If there was no need to cross your fingers, why has there been two subsequent delays in the announcements, with the latest one indicating that it will only happen by June-16.

They must seriously think we are fools. So much so that they are even planning to ask us for more money to pay their salaries. The sad thing is some people on here still buy this story.
