LOL ..... once when young and foolish I took up smoking ( it gave me something to do at work while I waited to be sent off to report on the next school fete).
During that time I ended up in a small group on the upper heights of Mt Kilimanjaro... It was pretty high - like a moonscape outside because nothing grew . Our group of 12 had been winnowed down to seven considered fit enough to get up at 2am for lukewarm tea (boiling point pretty low) followed by a brisk climb to the summit. I was mega cheesed off because I had worked out the complete lack of ‘brisk’ every tourist had been suffering since we passed into the no vegetation zone was because of the altitude and lack of oxygen. We moved like sloths in slow motion!
The porters however were skipping and chatting and smiling and carrying on as if everything was completely normal.
...My response to this clearly environmental inequilibrium was to smoke an unwanted but entirely defiant cigarette as soon as I got to the hut .

For NRW to pay another dividend in the midst of all the carnage out there .....well that WOULDN’T be like that - reactive and ill considered..
It would be brave and dashing and strategic ....
And yes NRW is entirely capable of doing it
..if it wants to.
