Inner city suburb thats going through gentrification. The main Sydney brands of Young Henrys and co are mainly in Newtown, Erskinville and Marrickville - largely hipster areas with a little bit of the strange about them. Those areas are basically next door, as is surry hills the main inner city hotspot for restaurants and cafes (Chin Chin, Bills)
The Redfern of old is slowly being replaced as what has happened with most of sydnrys inner suburbed but I suspect it has been chosen as it does not have a competing brewery in the area but ticks the boxes of an inner city suburb that is not 100% gentrified and still has reasonable rents. Depending on where it is in Redfern it will also be relatively close to UTS and USyd, Prince Albert Park, Central Park shops (old carlton brewery).
Is also near established watering holes of lord gladstone, chippo hotel and redfern hotel.
I think its a good choice, look up henry lees redfern to get an idea of the changing face of the area or three williams.
