Just on the topic of solar ungung,

I'm a very pleased solar convert.

I recently had a 6.5kw system installed. A 5kw fronius inverter with 22× 295w REC panels.

11 panels east facing, 11 panels west facing getting a solid distribution of power across the entire day.

It cost me $8,700 before I get the new Victorian rebate of $2,225 so $6,500 all up.

I had electricity bills of about $230-$260 a month, has been virtually wiped. I'm usually -$1.80 each day. I actually significantly underestimated the impact they would have, although they were installed in October & it is summer so I'll expect a reduction in daily production during winter. On a good day I can produce 43kw.

Naturally every household has its own suitability for solar power however it would seem with the current price point of systems in states particularly like Victoria the pay back period has been drastically reduced.

I believe the uptake rates of solar throughout Australia are only going to increase with the ridiculous prices from the grid.

Let's hope that the battery space can find it's place next to these systems sooner than later. The tipping point will eventually arrive where mass scale production puts these batteries in an affordable price range family households can genuinely consider.
