Info from dougtags. The road is open in Charters Towers Regional Council area from Belyando through Charters Towers to The Lynd (on the route from Agate Creek to Charters Towers). Conditions from the Etheridge Shire boundary ( Greenvale Road ) through to Georgetown are as follows:· If staying on the sealed road ( through the 40 Mile to Mt Surprise you will have no trouble at all. If going through the unsealed roads ( Oasis to Einasleigh to Georgetown ) the road has been repaired to a state trafficable however there has been a few storms through that area and can be a little rough in spots. ( mainly causeways and minor scouring )
That's a big improvement but, as you can see, storms are still about so I reckon that they won't take any risks with real heavy stuff (haulage) until they are more comfortable with the weather.
Am making enquiries from the locals if any action has started at Agate Creek.
