First of all full credit to the Geology team here with those first two holes into Comstock, they drilled through a 2m void and back into rock on the other side (with gold in it) thus justifying the "risk" of owning a rod string...its always fun waiting for the rocks to start coming again once through the void.
Not sure why they are drilling on an Azimuth of 340 (towards NNW) though, the overall geology all looks like it it striking north to south so maybe the Qtz breccia vein unit strikes more east-west so that determined the direction that they were drilling.
Look at the gold assays from the surface rock chips at Shamrock and Iron Duke - and admittedly they are probably selective and may be an enriched oxide zone - but if those grades are repeatable with some width to them when drilling them down dip that could be interesting....
Other people asked why these prospects have sat around unloved since WW2, the entire Cloncurry area has many numerous small mines that were abandonned during the second world war due to labour shortages and often hitting water and/or sulphide minerals that the historic miners often didn't bother to treat, remember logistics and mineral treatment technology have changed since then.
