And how is the US involved in any of this?
GEV does a deal directly with the Indians.
The Indians do a deal with the Iranians.
India and the US have no problems with each other.
Re the financing - just as Stonepeak are financing up to $1.5bn for Magnolia, I doubt very much that GEV will have a problem getting a much smaller (how much smaller, I have no idea; but I assume it will be SIGNIFICANTLY lower than what LNG required from Stonepeak).
Qatar is not the only game in town. There is no shortage of wealthy Middle Eastern types with the cash to splash.
Suffice to say, I'd much rather be holding GEV than LNG.
