However Oil wells, particularly horizontals wells, peak very quickly, almost immediately and then taper off exponentially with a long thin tail. What is the point of drilling oil wells, when the ROI of that well is very sensitive to the POO at the time of completion of the well, when the POO is at cyclical lows?
