I imagine it's distressing but that's the wrong lesson.
The real lesson is only buy listed services companies when everyone who owns the company hates it and thinks the business model is dead. That's like one of my favourite things to hear.
For 95% of companies there's a time and a price when they are suitable for purchase, the rest are frauds and failures.
