I don't think Colin and Charles will be too concerned about having to restore any of the major shafts @MrKodal. They've done it before, and with modern technology, it shouldn't be even close to an insurmountable challenge for these blokes.
Removing rubble from shafts and reinforcing their support structures is a hell of a lot less work than developing large stopes. There is likely to be huge tonnages of pre-developed stopes, that were ready to mine by thousands of workers, when suddenly abandoned. This is where the incredible value lies. Vein 6 could be just under an ounce per tonne in these ore bodies. Readily mined ore at this sort of grade would give us fantastic JORC reserves, and be one hell of a stick start for gold production from the small plant. This is why Colin, Charles, Doug and Simon seem so motivated and excited about Gubong, IMO.
