Measuring cost simply on $ kw doesnt give VRB justice. Lithium batteries basically need to be thrown away after 8-10 years, where as VRB may need a pump replaced. Lifespan is nearly indefinite. Now if you break cost over lifetime of an asset, you may get a much more usable number.
