I've explained the colouration of bornite and how the colour tarnishes rapidly and you say you read the scholarly article. If you did and you know anything about the mineral you would know its not brown. Judging by the location that the person is in who is holding that sample the brown could easily be circulation fluid (mud) from the diamond rig or gangue rock or both.
The colour of the bornite in that photo looks vey much like the colour in the hand specimen from my collection and looks nothing like the bornite we have been discussing from the ZX-18023 hole. Esh
