Ore from Empire Resources’ Penny’s Find mine has allowed crushing operations to hit their straps and with 8600t sitting on the run-of-mine pad, ore haulage of about 15-20,000t per month will continue.
The annual capacity at Burbanks is 180,000t, however, a continuous improvement program is underway to improve throughput rates and reduce costs.
Under a toll treatment arrangement with Empire up to 150,000t of ore will flow from Penny’s Find to the mill.
This will be complemented by ore from the nearby Spargoville mine that Maximus acquired from Tychean Resources last year.
Maximus is in negotiations for additional tonnage for the rest of 2017 and beyond so the mill can remain running at full capacity.
