After attending an AGM yesterday I had a chance meeting with JP of SGQ in the street.
He was generous with his time and exuded quiet confidence about the Ni potential. The impression I got was there is probably enough present to develop a small scale high grade mine but as Kates9999 above states the slowly slowly approach is needed for a company in this economic environment.
The unusual geological environment they are dealing with has yet to be fully understood. Why is the mineralised belt roughly E-W when most WA deposits are along a NNW-SSE trend.
BHP apparently considered this to be the result of late structure.
However, more recent drilling and studies suggest it is primary. From an exploration point of view this may have significant implications to what might be found with further geophysics and drilling. Unique or new environments such as this can take a lot of time to be understood and vector in on major controls, if any.
Au at east Laverton is on the back burner but they are keeping the tenements current with enough exploration to meet commitments.
I do not follow SGQ closely so apologies if these comments are inappropriate or covered elsewhere. Thanks to JP for his time -- vrooom hopefully for the SP down the track.
