That was an exchange, kind of like the CEO commsec accidently deleting our portfolios.
with crypto wallets they are yours and nothing can happen to them as you can store them offline but like anything physical such as gold or money it can be stolen. Nothing is 100% safe. But if you spread it around, a little bit harder for it to go missing.
