Too true. There are always challenges in such moves, but Australian companies aren't without some success in this area. I'm thinking of Redflex, which got its traffic cameras into some US local governments.
Again, this north american venture demonstrates Saferoads' outward looking, long term focus - and its renewed confidence. I'm 100% supportive.
Another development noted in the annual report is this:
"After being based in the Warragul/Drouin area since the company was founded in 1992, it is time to move closer to Melbourne to take advantage of various synergies and savings including consolidation from two sites to a single site, reduced freight and travel costs and access to a broader talent pool for recruitment."
That's another big (and no doubt difficult) decision the company has just made, and to me it signals that they very much see themselves as long term players in this industry. Another thumbs up from me.
