Just to be clear I am NOT saying never sell. If APX went to $40 bucks tomorrow, too right I'd be selling. I have to be confident enough that the stock is overpriced and I can buy back in at a lower price that makes it worth it after tax implications.
Do I think Appen is overpriced? No.
Do I think it will pull back? Possibly, potentially even likely but equally as likely it will not.
Therefore, is there any other reason to sell? Is my investment thesis broken? No. I think this company will be still banging out great returns in 5 maybe 10 years time and the dividend on my original investment will be feeding me a great little bit of pocket money to go invest in the next potential 10 bagger. Importantly, would I buy now with a long term view if I did not already have a large holding in my pf? YES.
