Very true. I’ve noticed that it’s harder to hold a stock that has become a huge portion of your portfolio. Most people “trim” and “sell down” and “manage their risks”.
It feels like an even harder decision than selling a dud. For instance, if you bought amazon from its $100 days and have added substantially along the way. Now that you have a stake that is so huge it’s scary, what would you do when it’s about to report?
Had the same anxiety with A2M. Bought $1 now $13. What to do? The Warren buffet mantra is to do absolutely nothing. Trim your weeds and water your flowers they say. Talk is cheap. Actually holding off from trimming those flowers is not easy at all!
Pomodoro, I don’t blame you, but trimming 75% of holdings sounds a tad extreme to me!
