247247: Great post by you and I have to agree that the weather goods have been most "unkind" to Sir Eddie as well as - by extension - to the ordinary shareholders of ITC that are posting here.
I believe that you are correct in your conclusion that the "RAIN GODS" have disposed of our chance to get "fair value" at the present time and that therefore the offer on the table at 8.5c is likely the best we are going to get.
I was hoping for a counter-bid (mainly scrip based) by VPE by today, but perhaps due to VPE's less than stellar sp at the moment they seem to be reluctant to make such a bid (that is my speculative take on this).
Therefore, I have now also decided to "leave the ITC building" and the 8.5c I shall be getting for my shares represents a nice uplift, as my average-in was just below 5c. Hence, I am happy to depart with a good gain.
IF anyone wants to partake in the higher value that those fields will represent over time, they should perhaps buy either VPE or BPT.
I am considering adding to my small stake in VPE. After all they will have the majority of those fields in their hand for certain.
Sorry for a long-winded post....feels kind of emotional to leave this most decent board with such a high number of quality posters.
I wish each and every one only the very best in their future investment projects! (We might meet again on some other boards).
