Thanks JayWin for the comprehensive explanation. I will take a closer look at FLT as you suggest. I do agree that travel is becoming more accessible to more people. ( sadly for travellers like myself). The days of real adventures are becoming less as crowds of selfie takers , tour buses, cruise ships and the long lines at tourist spots is now the norm.
Almost makes me wish I was back in the 1970s-1980's. At least the tourist hordes of today forces you seek out more remote and unusual destinations.
The only problem I see is that as tourists get more experienced in travelling they become more independent and become seasoned travellers in the future and then they know how to bypass the regular travel agents like FLT.
One of the problems I always found with Flight Centre is that they always make you contact them directly for many of their prices rather than being able to quickly find their best online price. I know that they're trying to offer good service and trying to lock you in. For me, I like to get a quick definitive answer , if not I move onto the next one.
