Scroll to the bottom of that page, and you'll notice support is provided by Deutsche Telecom. I assume Panasonic provide the hardware and have a separate arm (Panasonic Avionics) that offers the service component. Not that it is particularly relevant, but just thought it would be less likely for FRX to enter into commercial relationships with airlines aligned directly with a Telco. It appears not.
I checked out the local data plans and it looks like they are supplied through relationships directly with local carriers. (If someone who has a local data plan could run a speedtest or traceroute, I'd be interested to know the results). If so, this is interesting on two fronts:
1. There can't be a substantial cost advantage in in further increasing volume with the current network provider used for Global Data. In other words, we have reached scale. (UNL outlines data cost per in their recent presentation as having decreased by 75% from $80/GB to $20/GB, and I strongly believe we have a lower cost of supply).
2. CogMoE is real, and FRX believe that the user data they have acquired combined with new the carrier relationships/pricing can drive further uptake and deliver increased revenue growth.
