Punters receive a redemption code for a free microchip with every Scoot ticket purchased. Unfortunately it looks as though they'll have to pay for the postage (it would be ideal if they could collect it onboard) but it should see an increase in subscribers.
@flexiroam Is it possible to generate a unique redemption code for each customer based on the customers itinerary?
E.G. A customer who books a return journey from SIN -> SYD for 7 days is assigned a code that would automatically offer the 7 Day Australia Local Data Plan at the maximum discount (400MB for $6.50)
I understand this may present some privacy concerns (or Scoot simply may not wish to provide that information) but failing the above putting some example Local Plans on the landing page of the redemption may induce a higher rate of conversion for subscribers.
I can imagine a Scoot customer let's call him @praetorian He buys his trip thinks, awesome free SIM sticker, clicks through and realises damn it I have to pay postage, let's check it this thing is worthwhile. He sees $30 US/GB and thinks, nah too expensive, I won't bother its cheaper getting a local SIM.
Alternatively, if he sees an offer that makes sense like the one above, "$6.50 for 7 days is reasonable enough, let's see if I can get by using the 400MB and if not I'll use free WiFi @ hotel's, cafe's, etc." he would be much more likely to buy. Surely this is what CogMoE is about?
Also, would it viable to have a staff member present at Scoot's check in at Changi to increase uptake? Every Scoot customer is entitles to a FREE microchip, and they are all sitting captive whilst waiting in the check in line. Surely it would be very easy to have one your expert customer service reps from KLIA assisting customers to fit their microchips and providing them with special promotional codes based on the destination of the flight?
