You may be correct in your assessment, however there seems to me no doubt that there is an obligation to advise the market of this request. Wouldn't you, FX and others criticise them if they made no announcement? I guess this is academic at the moment because at the time of posting there are no sell orders!
Perhaps the approach behind this announcement could also be read as a vote of confidence in the changed corporate structure (and its ability to deliver product in the forseeable future) by those exploring a possible future franchise arrangement?
