Tragic, but I don't think a project name that many have bought...

Tragic, but I don't think a project name that many have bought into should be changed to someone's personal name in honour of them? The project is already under way and so this isn't some early stage decision.

A lot of divisive opinions out there about the construction company and lax standards or safety, however I think this is somewhat misleading and lead by the average joe witch hunting and pushing the whole 'Australian jobs' and 'if they paid more' etc. etc. As far as I am aware from speaking to some workers, or those that work on other 'sites' were that the german backpacker went back to finish additional work that was pointed out as missed and didn't bother to re-safety harness up. Stood on a bucket, lost balance, slipped, not sure, but basically the rest is history.

There's only so much you can do or blame a company for lack of safety or oversight when someone of that age decides to climb onto a plastic bucket and reach to touch up work without a harness - and at however high it was: 13 floors? who knows?

It's sad and harsh to say, but it was a lack of sensible thinking that unfortunately cost her life. The hard part is no one is willing to push some responsibility onto the young lady - surely no company can implement 100% oversight 24/7 to ensure everyone does the right thing. Due to the sensitivity of the issue though no one is willing to speak common sense however.
