"The remaining carrying amount of the asset is stated at fair value less cost to sell." I wonder if it is for sale now?
What is not clear to me is whether that value is prior to Vitol taking 65%, I **suspect** it is, as that transaction has not yet been completed at the time of the accounts, which means 'our share' of that asset value would be even smaller post transaction completion?
Astonishing to write down the sunk costs by such a degree given the potential for production. I wonder what details of the Vitol transaction forced that write down?
Any ideas on the implications for taxation/royalties should this ever make it to production? Will that 150m be deductible?
Wonder if we are ever going to see a large buyer come in and start buying stock here because they see value? I live in hope this might happen when the Vitol transaction is completed and there is some clarity on the next step.
