For the longest time I have wanted them to build a 1/4 scale demonstration plant that would be built with a selection of the materials they would use to evaluate the best products for a full scale plant. I think a plant that produces 10MW as a trial would be interesting to many players with the emergence of the microgrid and battery storage market that has occurred recently. Manzaneres project established that the theory works but the materials used weren't state of the art. it was 30 yrs ago now since it was in operation.
They haven't done that and it is concerning as they could probably increase investment interest doing a small scale plant. Re-Prove it works then try get the 200MW plant built. I'd like there EVM licence purchased by a GE or a Telsa type company. But I guess those companies would go to the original developer and try buy world wide licence.

The problem with a one quarter scale demonstration plant is that, as far as I recall, the capacity is proportional to the height of the tower and the area of the collector. Therefore a one quarter demo plant will have a very approximate capacity of 200/(4 x 4 x 4) = about 3MW! See what I mean? Totally financially unfeasible.
