Have any of you ever worked on a major deal? they need board approval and boards don't meet that often, every 1-2 months normally. BKW had 10 board meetings last year according to their full year report.

Usually the day before (or sometimes 2 days before) a scheduled announcement like quarterly / half yearly / full year etc. board meetings take place to approve the content / messaging to shareholders. This is one of the reasons there are so often new deals / CR / major changes announced on the same or very nearby dates.

Honestly, if this deal is something that BKW board has to sign off, then it's a positive. (and considering how busy a company is around half yearly / full yearly announcements, I don't believe the 45 days was a accident, if it's CEO sign-off they'd have asked for an extra week).
