In my opinion that would be correct,
When the lab receives a bag of drill sample, they crush it, mix it up and take a portion of it to do the assay, a high grade assay could be the result of a nugget which would give you a inaccurate average grade over the length, by taking another portion of that bag of sample and assaying it you can see if there is a variation.
Assay labs need to continuously check they are producing accurate results
