Smarts underground was high on the list of priority and think it was 2-3 years ago there had started on a feasibility study but issues came up and it has not progressed.
Now that they are near the bottom of the smarts pits I would think drilling smarts underground from there would be helpful but of course makes more sense to push ahead with OC ATM.
If I recall there is also a bit of an issue with going underground due to the fact there has not been any underground mining in Guyana, thou I see Guyana gold has finally got approval for an underground decline.
Again I am of the view that OC could be the turning point for try, there is plenty of targets to drill but that takes time, money and OC ca provide that
