Yes someone actually answered the phone!
unfortunately Mr Hatfull not in though.
Guy who answered didn’t have any detailed information but financing negotiations ongoing is all that could be said with certainty.
Maybe a condition of funding is a change of board with any luck. That's pretty optimistic. I really don't think that this board would allow another board to step in, and I think they've structured it so that such a change would be impossible. Look at who the major shareholders are and consider that a vote would be required to spill the board. How is that going to happen?
I'm a little surprised someone is still answering the phone at this stage. I'm pretty confident that 'financing negotiations ongoing' means 'well, no one is offering, but hey, if someone wants to step in at the 11th hour and give us some money we'll certainly take it'.
They haven't announced to the market that they're in administration, so they're not legally allowed to tell you over the phone. Administration involves negotiations with money AKA finances.
I don't think it's at all realistic to be holding any hope at this stage. If anyone had been wanting to invest several million dollars into AEB, they wouldn't have let the process drag out this long as they would know it would completely ruin investor confidence and thus the share price. There's no way after this long a suspension with AEB's history that a voluntary shareholder SPP would have any success.
Even the fantasy of the suspension being due to some amazing new venture would be dashed by the guy answering the phone confirming that the holdup is due to 'financial negotiations' (think about what 'financial negotiations' means for a company in this shape).
