I understand there could have been an issue with the environmental bond...and the magnitude of what the SA govt was after. Early indications were minimal in DD for the asset however once ROG signed the deal govt turned around and quadrupled what they initially advised.
came from an industry consultant in SA who knew the asset and parts of the transaction...I have no ability to know if it is accurate and as such is only hearsay as I cant verify.
it might paint some of the picture of the delay in finalizing...
