I guess to judge the published exploration results, it depends what kind of investor you are. NSTs share price had a major run up the last couple of days, so maybe todays session was a reaction from shortterm shareholders, some kind buy the rumor sell the fact. For me-being an investor with a mid- to longterm horizon, these are excellent results. They once again underpin NSTs organic growth strategy, they are still able to find lots of gold where the previous owners just could not and gave up.
This way NST is securing that highly profitable mining on these assets will continue for years (decades?) to come and thus making sure that shareholders will have a cash cow in the future.
They furthermore underline the "brand NST" as being specialists in underground mining, with mining engineers that are among the best in the industry. I am very confident they will do the same with their latest US- acquisition. (Pogo)
You just have to read through the forums of companies where NST recently increased their holdings (EAR for example). Just the fact that a successful "role model" Big Fish in the industry like NST is getting a bigger stake, lead to a generally better future outlook and helped their shareprice to climb. The general attitude of many is: "If NST is optimistic about our assets, with their proven success record, we probably have a bright future ahead. (Well of course some are also speculating that NST will eventually overtake the company)
So, to summarize if you are not that interested in the daily ups and downs(= trader), the exploration results from today where excellent ones if you are invested for the longterm. They ensure future dividends paid, reserves increased (important for institutional analysts) and thus underpin a positive development of the share price over the next years. Bear in mind, that competitors worldwide are having difficulties in growing their assets organically and very few (if any) are capable of achieving the rate of increasing reserves, that NST reaches year after year...
