that's a good question and my take on it would be that given it's a smelt (total melt of all metals) then poured into a mould, there would naturally be mixing and "evening out" of the metals in the copper bar so it would achieve homogeneity.
I have no direct knowledge of this (not a metallurgist) just having seen smelts/gold pours etc that's what I think would happen.
