You need to take in the full context. You're thinking binary thoughts like an engineer. There's no supergene enrichment where there's fresh rock outcropping.

You need a thick weathered zone to get a decent volume of weathered rock to leach and then you can get supergene enrichment at the base. It's not an overly important part of the big picture. The big tonnes are going to come from the fresh rock.
