I went to Uni with him and he is a good geologist. He gained a good reputation very early in his career. I heard he found an underground orebody that had been lost as they were driving on it on the other side of a big fault that had displaced the orebody. He got out his Uni textbooks and took some measurements and worked out where it was. I probably should have mentioned that story a while back when he bailed.
