if things were on the right track, why would someone with clout call for an independent review in the first place?
If the MD was right, and truly believed they were right, then why quit rather than wait to be vindicated by the independent review?
Why dump stock the next day if they were confident that everything they did made sense and was going to be vindicated by the review?
There are scenarios where this adds up to something pretty straight forward, and there are scenarios where you have to bend it like a pretzel to make it fit.
