If the market believes that the bottom in the POG is in and that it is heading higher, if only slowly, then EVR is going to be a lot higher by the end of the year.

My guess is that the jump in the POG last Friday is not a sign that gold is going to take off. It was a reaction to poor employment figures and some people think this will lead to less QE tapering. If that is true then why would the POG take off given that QE3 worked for equities but not for gold or goldies in 2013?

Tapering QE is actually making gold more attractive because money is flowing out of equities and gold is one possible alternative investment.

Lets see what the Chinese gold buyers do now that their New Year festivities are ending and there is some instability creeping into their financial system. Will they continue to buy gold at their previous high rate or will they slow down, like they did last year at this time of the year? I dunno.

As for EVR's recent quarterly update, I not that they omitted to tell us how their finances were doing. Last year they gave us a full update in their December 2012 quarterly update - the omission may not be a good sign. The annual accounts come out in March, I think, when all will be revealed.
