Altavista was released in 1995 and Google search in 1997. Altavista had a lot more money behind them than Google except Google had a better package than all the others so they ultimately took over. Just because Google has a lot more backing than EM1 does not guarantee them success, it is all about content and functionality and what people most enjoy using. Like someone else pointed out, Google tried to take on Facebook and failed. They are now trying to enter this space and will ultimately fail as money does not buy success. Myspace was a lot richer than Facebook but they failed, why? Facebook had a better all round package to offer. Also you mention the top games that Google could command, well that means very little. If you look at the top games in China today on the mobile platform, most of them are Chinese games or ones we have never heard about. People say ICI control crappy games but they are games targeted at certain countries like Indonesia where hundreds of millions download their games. The games market is absolutely massive and growing and there is room for everybody.

If that is how you feel best of luck - EM1 is lacking some serious resources compared to others in the field and will make for a Great War story if successful however I will not be joining this battle except through observation.
