this obviously complete speculation, but this is what I think is the most likely thing to happen IF the chip works as hoped.
I think a big phone company will make a take over offer very quickly. audio pixels tech would be a point of difference in a very competitive space. a few percentage points of phone sale gains is BIG money for the phone companies. These same companies are sitting on lots of cash. If a company owns the AKP tech they will own a big point of difference in their market. I think one of the companies will make a bid and that could either start a bidding war or not. either way, we get a bid that puts a floor on the stock price. $10 big USD is about $500 AUD per AKP share. I would sell all my shares for that much in a heartbeat (even though I think the shares could go for over $1,000 each- i would lock in $500 happily). I don't know what other holders eg management, would sell for, but $10 bil is not much to the tech giants.
So i think we probably get gobbled up pretty quickly. I would be disappointed if it didn't happen. Maybe we would be better off going on our own and being a big independent company, but if I am offered a wad of cash, I'll take it. I am betting on the scientists. Betting on mass production and implementation of bringing this to market independently is yet another risk, and one I would rather get paid not to take.
If a big phone company buys AKP, nothing stops them selling the chips to their competitors down the track, so I don't see the purchase as a big risk for a tech company. If AKP chips work, they will certainly be in demand.
Anyway, these are just my thoughts.
