A couple of additional points discussed at the EGM for those who weren't there..

    New dissipation layer.

Yuval showed the attached picture at the EGM to show where the dissipation layer sits within the pixels.

As already discussed Yuval explained to the EGM that they have been successfully trialled a number of techniques for dissipating the charges that build up on the pixels during use.  The orange layers (including dimples) in the picture represent the new dissipation layer that conducts these charges away from the pixel, and avoid them becoming stuck.

Simplified Structure has no intrinsic SPL slope.

Yuval explained at the EGM that unlike the full structure, the new simplified structure has minimal instrinsic SPL slope.  This slope, which generally exists for all digital sound reconstruction speakers, is the reason that digital speakers generally struggle producing lower notes at high volumes.  If we look back to the March 2015 Phase III Frequency Response results, this slope is quite evident, highlighting how the Phase III trial structure was able to produce the higher frequencies at much higher volumes than lower ones.

As Yuval pointed out at the meeting, the simplified structure was able to produce lower frequencies (100Hz and potentially lower) at high volumes, indicating a much flatter frequency response curve than the full structure.

He noted that the simplified structure does use more power to drive these lower notes, and may be best suited to powered applications such as cars and TVs, while mobile phones and battery powered applications may be best suited for the full structure.  They indicated that serious subwoofer-like bass sound may be possible with a small number of the simplified structure chips, rather than numbers in the order of 15-25 mentioned previously.

All up, some impressive developments, that will hopefully be demonstrated soon.
