Hi nursery,

I spoke to Hongjie Dai at Stanford Uni on the phone earlier this year and we exchanged a number of E-Mails. He is one of the leader's in the fields of nanoelectronics, nanobiotechnolgy, nanomedicine, energy storage and electrocatalysis. See the following link:

He told me the following, and I quote: "single-walled CNT's are smaller than multiwalled CNT's and preferred for biological applications". As Eden's CNT's are MWCNT's, they are therefore not really suitable for biological applications. I have also had this fact confirmed by a number of other CNT researchers. I would not completely rule out that at some time in the future this may change. However, with EdenCrete and EdenPlast, as well as a long list of other possible applications being all MWCNT based, and with all available resources currently being employed to ensure the success of EdenCrete, I can't see this changing soon.

Bayer with their Baytubes project, were looking at all CNT types i.e. SWCNT's, DWCNT's and MWCNT's. However, there were only producing MWCNT's as far as I am informed. They also attempted to develop a CNT product like EdenCrete, but did not solve the dispersion/clumping issue.  See the following link about the opening of the Baytubes facility at Bayer's Chempark in Leverkusen:
