It depends on why they bought. Some would have already sold, some would have been short termers and have regrets and some would be long term and it is too early to tell if they'll be sorry. I expect they won't although they could have bought lower if they'd waited. But how were we to know this would happen now? If it happened in 6 months, maybe the SP would be 4c today? You never know. It's always easy to look back in hindsight and pick where there best point to buy was; when you're making a decision in the moment, it is not so easy.

As you're a non-holder, maybe you should focus on your own investments and trades rather than wasting sympathy on others.
