I didn't exactly fallover with excitement either (considering CFT couldn't spark enough interest to get it going) but i suppose if they can obtain an interest in this asset at a more attractive price then it could be a worthy portion of a broader portfolio.

I still think a small ownership interest in a near-term production well (with upside potential) with a major operator would be a good place to start. Any acquisition in East Africa would be handsomely rewarded by the market but it's getting very competitive over there and no longer a dirt cheap place to buy-in, unless you're happy to look at locations with greater sovereign risk.

Recent changes to legislation in the Kyrgyz Republic could make that a far more attractive (and cheap) place to explore some prospective grounds.
