The order announced for The Netherlands representing DTI's first supply to Stadler Rail AG might look rather modest in that if the trial is successful an additional 24 trains will be outfitted, but the opportunities above and beyond that are significant.
Taken from the company's website, The Stadler Rail Group has operations in 17 sites across 10 countries comprising Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, Belarus, The Netherlands and Algeria.
If DTI can get their foot in the door in The Netherlands then they can potentially access all nine other markets mentioned above as well.
Furthermore, in the US, the latest announcement makes mention of initial orders from SEPTA for up to 35 video surveillance systems for new transit buses, but that is just the tip of the iceberg as well.
With SEPTA operating over 1300 buses, 300 regional trains and 138 light rail vehicles with the procurement of a further 525 new transit buses over the next five years with one of DTI's systems having been specified, the potential should be clear for all to see.
Then we have all the other opportunities going on, both those that have already been announced and all the others in the pipeline going forward.
