    Hi Gassed.

Gotta be careful of x promo on any of the boards imo.smile.png

My digging on the hydrothermals, and probably now the tectonic structure under these salars, has now taken a bit more importance in my research on Li brines.

We are all hoping the down-thrown block has as good a resource retention/quality as the area around hole 1. But there is the possibility, hopefully very remote, that this activity has done something to the strata that may not be to our advantage. By rights the strata should essentially be the same across the block and in fact this tectonic activity may have opened this part of the brine resource to hydrothermal activity.

What is interesting, and one can only make their own conclusions at this stage about this, but imo given that hole 1 to the north had these extremely high Li grades, and that there is some opinion amongst the geo community that such grades can only come from the additive effect of hydrothermals, then unless the upper hole 1 zone has its own hydrothermal source to increase the Li grades then there must be some connectivity between this down-thrown block zone and the upper zone. At this stage Id say its highly likely the connection is via the vertical fault line on the northern side of the block.

So its a distinct possibility that this down-thrown block is a significant concentrating source for the rest of the northern part of the salar. That being said it may not be the only source as there is considerable tectonic/faulting activity in this region obviously, and theres no doubt that Mattillas ignibrite plays a significant role in the high Li concentrations as well.

Personally I dont see it as hyperanalysing as it gives one a more complete knowledge of where Galan r going with this.

One could also ask the question: "why the hell would they drill this deep" if they didnt think the resource was down there !
