How reasonable is it to whip up excitement that a major Cu find is going to be in the first Teck ann?
It means any disappointment is exaggeratedly high.
How realistic is that response?
The ann contains key information which you've picked up on.
It’s a reminder that Teck considers Loma Bonita and Cerro San Simon to be part of the same system; they’re now calling it the Loma Bonita/Cerro San Simon corridor as shown on the map.
And Teck is saying that “several blocks on the El Alacrán project area appear to have been faulted and displaced. The identification of these structural blocks has been important for narrowing down porphyry copper drill targets, specifically uplifted/tilted structural blocks, as present to the west of Cerro San Simon and in the area of Cerro Colorado.”
So they’re still narrowing targets. There shouldn’t be any drama greeting that statement. It's completely reasonable.
“The presence of porphyry-type alteration and veining with trace copper and molybdenum mineralization is encouraging and warrants follow-up..
Then we have this:
“. Potential targets to be tested include:
following up positive results from the Loma Bonita – Cerro San Simon epithermal corridor and the Cerro Colorado porphyry copper target; and
further epithermal precious metal and porphyry copper targets at La Morita, Santa Barbara and Cerro Alacrán.”
It’s not all about Cu, it’s also about PMs.
I do wish we could all take a chill pill because the flagship project is still Oposura. None of the naysayers have managed to put credible holes in the business case I posted several times now on that.
Instead they have been focussed on creating needless urgency about Alacran. (Ask yourself why).
Sara Alicia? We’re waiting on drill results and those should be exciting. Due to the fact that this is an extremely high level of mineralisation 6% and the distribution is even. That surely will cause a re-rate.
Are the naysayers about Oposura and drama squad about Alacran, secretly much more positive about Sara Alicia in the extremely hot commodity of cobalt, and half-hearted about their opposition to Oposura because they know the truth? (that this company is going to become profitable and sentiment will turn bullish).
