Monax Mining Limited (Monax or the Company) is pleased to announce that it has recently
submitted an application for a tenement located West-southwest of Mount Garnet in northern
Queensland (Figure 1). The application is based on an extensive geological review following the
distribution of the recent promotional flyer “Lithium Opportunities in Queensland” released by the
Geological Survey of Queensland in October 2015.
The application area is located within close proximity to a “mineral occurrence” as identified by
the Queensland Department of Natural Resources and Mines MERLIN database whereby
“moderately weathered, light pink, lepidolite pegmatite near metamorphics” is reported. Monax
also notes that the application area contains the prospective Blackman Gap Complex, the
geological unit which hosts the reported occurrence of lepidolite pegmatite.
The application area contains ten known tin prospects; however the area has not undergone any
known lithium exploration despite the reported presence of the lepidolite pegmatite.
Monax will further review the application area in anticipation of an exploration program which will
commence upon the successful grant of the tenement.
