Escondida, or The Hidden deposit had no gossan or other outcropping. It's a very profitable mine and the world's biggest copper mine. Re: Bawdwin, there is a fair chance there is a sizeable deposit in the area with no outcropping.
Historic ZnEq grades from early 20th century of 34% probably 50% when first found, even if a hidden deposit is half the size of China..... it will be stunning.
