Ive worked, down the hole hammer drilling, both exploration and water.
Exploration diamond drilling, both for Rio Tinto and some other smaller contractors , back a few years ago now and what ive found is that most fellow drillers are/were a pretty fussy and competative lot. Everything is about the $$ to them , as its not for the feint harted and it is a very dirty ,dusty, and relatively dangerous job, especially when your away from family and friends (pets) for extended periods of time.
If the dollars aren't there, then neither are they.
That's my take on it.
